2016: 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc
The 2016 is one for the ages. Mother nature gave us all the ingredients for a blockbuster vintage. Our 2016 is dense and classically weighted. Toasty notes of creme brulee and hazelnut frame a wine of incredible concentration. One can't help but think of grilled meats, freshly roasted coffee beans and heady desserts. This wine is no wimp--the tannins are capable and fine and provide a firm backbone for all the deliciousness. The 2016 has the beauty to please now and the intensity to last for decades.

2017: 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc
Although the growing season was cooler than average, heat spells in September gave the fruit its last push towards perfection. The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is pure and edgy. It is a complex and dark-fruited wine with notes of baking spices and nuances of clean forest floor on the nose. The middle of the wine is bold and filled with flavors of plum, mocha and dark cherries. Fine tannins elongate the wine's protracted finish.
We chose to bottle only wines harvested before the historic California wildfires of October, 2017; therefore none of our wines were exposed to smoke.

2018: 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc
The 2018 is dark, dense and moody! It demonstrates that tightly wound quality of a new wine that will convert its youthful power to elegance with time in the cellar. We find freshly roasted coffee beans, anise, and blackberry on the nose. There is a beautiful tension in this vintage between the dark, flavor depth and the structure of the wine. The critics are raving about 2018 in Napa, and we can attest!
We are incredibly excited to include a new vineyard in our Napa blend. The Rafael Vineyard, north and west of the city of the Napa, located on a majestic ridge above Dry Creek Road, was planted in the 1980's. The old vines there lend a mature and confident quality to the blend and we look forward to working with this historic site for many years.

2019: 89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Cabernet Franc.
What a stunning vintage; 2019's are smooth, approachable and delicious wines. We find freshly roasted coffee beans, dark plum, Bing cherry, anise, and blackberry compote on the nose. The 2019 broadens across our palate with a wide, juicy tension that is undeniably mouth-watering. We adore the counterpoint between the succulence of the fruit and density of the flavor. The critics are already raving about 2019 in Napa, and we can attest!

2020: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is usually comprised of all 5 of our Cabernet and Cabernet Franc Vineyards. But with only 2 vineyards harvested before the tragic Glass Fire in October 2020, our Napa Valley Blend this year is made up of only fruit from the Lewelling Ranch and the Rafael Vineyard.
100% Cabernet for the first time in a handful of years, lending a dark cherry and perfumed character to the wine, it is smooth, rich and savory. It immediately reminds us of the 2016 bottling: precise and ageworthy. We are enjoying it currently with a long decant.
Jeb Dunnuck write, "It is It has terrific purity in its darker fruits and is medium to full-bodied, has ripe tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and outstanding length. It should drink nicely for a decade." 2/16/2023 www.jebdunnuck.com 91 Points
2021: 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc
Our 2021 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is back to the usual blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from all 5 of our vineyard sources.
An incredible nose of clean forest, dark wood, and incense. A classic wine that reminds us immediately of 2016 and 2018---ageable, defined and serious. The 2021 has a clean edge of red raspberry and violet and seems to have everything in its right place. It is complex, and of course benefits from a decant this early in its life.
Jeb Dunnuck write, "it's a beautiful wine in the making as well as a great value in Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Darker currants, cassis, violets, and flowers are just some of its notes, and this medium to full-bodied, pure, balanced, beauty will drink nicely right out of the gate." 2/16/2023 www.jebdunnuck.com 92-94 Points (from barrel)
