2019 Sleeping Lady Cabernet SauvignonYountville
Our first vineyard designate red wine, the Sleeping Lady Cabernet Sauvignon hails from a vineyard just south of Yountville on the western side of Napa Valley. The vineyard is situated on a gentle slope at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains. The soil is alluvial cobble wash and limits the vigor of the vines. Resulting wines are structural and dense in nature. Only four barrels of the 2019 Sleeping Lady were made.
Another gorgeous vintage of our most prized Cabernet. The 2019 Sleeping Lady Cabernet Sauvignon is a dense and complex wine. The nose of this wine is accentuated with dark fruits notes of clove, anise and crushed rock. It has layers of nuance and will age for decades. This vintage reminds us of wines from the northern Medoc: powerful, structured and stoic.
Tasting Notes from Jeb Dunnuck:
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Sleeping Lady Vineyard shows a classic, almost old school style in its more mineral-laced, graphite, lead pencil, and floral aromas and flavors. Nicely concentrated and medium to full-bodied, with beautiful cassis and almost black raspberry fruits, it builds with time in the glass, has ripe yet firm tannins, and a great finish. Give bottles 3-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades. 3/10/2022 www.jebdunnuck.com
Our labels incorporate patterns and textures that occur in nature. This one is repetitive in soils and water.
