2021 Oakville Station Cabernet Sauvignon Magnum Oakville
2021 Oakville Station Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville
The 2021 opens with scents of ripe blackberries, cassis, and blackcurrant, and is layered with hints of black cherry. The aromatic profile unfolds with complexity, revealing subtle nuances of dried herbs, cedarwood, and tobacco. Subtle oak notes are evident but harmonious, offering suggestions of Tahitian vanilla bean, creme brulee, and a whisper of espresso.
Upon the first sip, the wine envelops the palate with a plush, velvety texture, showcasing the opulence of Oakville fruit. Concentrated flavors of blackberry jam and dark plum mingle with notes of licorice and dark chocolate. The wine's structure is impeccable, with finely integrated tannins providing both power and finesse. Layers of graphite, leather, and a subtle earthiness hint at the wine's origin. The finish is long and lingering, leaving an impression of dark fruit preserves and a touch of spice.
A nearly perfect wine from an outstanding vintage, this is a truly exceptional expression of Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon, manifesting the quality of Oakville in a pure and superb vintage. Its impeccable balance, depth of flavor, and luxurious texture make it gem for your collection. While undeniably impressive now, its pedigree suggests it will only continue to evolve and improve with age, rewarding those with the patience to cellar it for years to come

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Station is just about pure perfection and is a match for anything in the vintage. All varietal from a great vineyard in Oakville, aged 20 months in 65% new barrels, it has a full-bodied, pure, focused, incredibly impressive style as well as ample cassis and black raspberry-like fruit, notes of graphite, chocolate, and spring flowers, building yet ripe and polished tannins, and remarkable purity. The purity, depth, and balance here are something to behold. As with most 2021s, 3-4 years of bottle age are warranted, but it will evolve for two decades at a minimum. The single-varietal 2021 Oakville Station Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet-purple in color. It needs a bit of swirling to bring out fragrant scents of forest floor, dusty soil, and potpourri leading to a core of warm cassis, blackberry pie, and redcurrant jelly. The full-bodied palate has impressive tension, with a fine-grained texture and fantastically expressive black and red fruit layers, finishing long and minerally. This is beautiful! Our labels incorporate patterns and textures that occur in nature. This one demonstrates the golden hills of California and the graceful movement of the native grasses when they dry and transform from green to pale yellow.
Only four barrels of the 2021 Oakville were made.
