2022 Sleeping Lady Cabernet Sauvignon Yountville

Our first vineyard designate red wine, the Sleeping Lady Cabernet Sauvignon hails from a vineyard just south of Yountville on the western side of Napa Valley. The vineyard is situated on a gentle slope at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains. The soil is alluvial cobble wash and limits the vigor of the vines. Resulting wines are structural and dense in nature.

Cassis, graphite, and darker fruits define the remarkable 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Sleeping Lady Vineyard, and it's full-bodied, pure, and layered on the palate, with plenty of ripe tannins and concentration. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a great site in Yountville and aged 22 months in 60% new French oak, give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following 15+ years.

Deep garnet-purple colored, it's a little subdued to begin, needing some shaking to wake up scents of black currant jelly, plum preserves, and blueberry pie, followed by hints of underbrush and tar. The full-bodied palate is jam-packed with black fruit preserves flavors, supported by firm, grainy tannins and bags of freshness, finishing long and savory.
