2023 Sleeping Lady Cabernet Franc Magnum Yountville - Zeitgeist Cellars

2023 Sleeping Lady Cabernet Franc Magnum Yountville

New $425.00 |  1.5L

From the renowned Sleeping Lady vineyard, south of Yountville on the western side of Napa Valley. The vineyard is situated on a gentle slope at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains. The soil is alluvial cobble wash and limits the vigor of the vines. Resulting wines are structural and dense in nature.

Only 12 Magnums of the 2023 Sleeping Lady Cab Franc were produced.

The full notes from Lisa Perrotti-Brown:

The 2023 Sleeping Lady Cabernet Franc is 100% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it prances out of the glass with showy notes of red currant jelly, wild sage, graphite, and rose oil, followed by wafts of garrigue and fragrant soil. The full-bodied palate is stacked with red and blue fruit layers with floral- and earth-inspired accents and a firm frame of grainy tannins and well-knit acidity, finishing long and shimmery. Stunning.

And from Jeb Dunnuck:

Very varietal aromatics of ripe red and black fruits, dark chocolate, exotic herbs, flowers, and forest floor nuances all shine in the 2023 Cabernet Franc Sleeping Lady Vineyard, which spent 22 months in 75% new French oak. It's medium to full-bodied and has a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel and a great finish. It brings lots of classic Cabernet Franc green herb and floral notes and will be loved by traditionalists out there. Drink this charming effort over the coming 15+ years. Drink 2025-2045.

And from James Suckling:

What a finely made wine this is, with so much tension, purity and finesse. Aromas of crushed stones, dried flowers, herbs and wild blackberries with a saline edge. The palate is taut and focused, showing firmly framed tannins and a luscious, rounded mouthfeel with lovely depth, tension and nerve. Drink or hold.
